The Art 03:02

I once knew a girl who looked exactly as you do. And i know you won't believe me but she had the same name too. In the past, that foreign country, we made love 1000 times. She loved music and she loved me and I loved her till she died. Who's this pretty changeling, this impostor in my bed? In the darkest of dark shadows I can glimpse what i once had. With a black tie and a black heart, there is no corpse just despair. My frustration has turned to sadness as I mourn the death of her. I'm not accepting it, i can't believe it when I see what time has done. Stolen away with your essence I'm trying to find out where it's gone. It's buried. Lying here in the same warm darkness trying to pull the threads of time. Wondering how it took you from me and how it managed to leave your body behind and now I'm mourning for my loss. I lost her but I found you, did you know you were killing her? You can blame life if you want to, Or BLAME ME IF YOU PREFER. Kiss me like you mean it, like the thought does not disgust. Make the spectre of the lover rise from ashes, blown from dust. If you loved me, you should love me, I'm still here, same heart and mind. In the darkness, the same darkness, trying to pull the threads of time.

To my shame I don't remember, I don't know why But the man I was is reflected in your eyes. There is something. I recall An ugly self portrait on a wall. Leaning from windows, London nights Watching lights and fights and getting high I thought I dreamt it. Was I there? I met a girl with moonlight in her hair. She did look a lot like you. Now visions are being born from your perfume. I see your heart sink. To my shame.... You met a man to change your world. It couldn't have been me, you weren't my girl. I'm a BASTARD? That may be true. Now liquid ghosts are moving through this room. There's an ocean in my head. Ghosts are fishing memories from the bed. Perhaps a kiss can prove me wrong. Paint me back into this scene where I came from.

The Ghost 06:18
Ghost walks the grey streets, pale and subdued. You feel his presence but essence eludes. He was tormented by ambition, and real thoughts came out of silence And nothing could have been more silent than his world of one. A scream 'rose out of quiet, a fist was made in fury, Blood surged, re-opened vessels, he was man again! Pale as despair, dark matter eyes, Welcome the ghost, the ghost of my life Do you recognise what I have become? Well, all this decay will be undone. Bridegroom picture looks quite like him, It can't be, he's smiling, warmth in his skin. That was when his wife still acted, Advertising something special. That was before Dr Jekyll became Mrs Hyde. Then each word carried ten punches, every smile was laced with poison, Every tear stung eyes like acid. She made a pale ghost. Pale as despair, dark matter eyes, Welcome the ghost, the ghost of my life Do you recognise what I have become? Well, all this decay will be undone. Then the ghost he turned to haunting, Sharpened up his suits and his knives, A handsome stranger with twinkling eyes she thought she'd seen before. As Astraeus brought the stars out, she had tricked herself into his arms, The last thing she ever thought was, 'I've been here before'. Pale as despair, dark matter eyes, Welcome the ghost, the ghost of my life Do you recognise what I have become? Well, all this decay will be undone.

Infinity 03:59
I saw infinity. I saw the end of this. I felt our everything in one blink of an eye. A trillion lights went out as time extinguished stars. Next time we start again there'll be no questions left for God to answer. Now that I've seen everything you won't unsettle me with infinity. I saw the start of this, warm arms around my neck, Had starlight burned my nerves or was I swimming with fog in my eyes? Laid out in front of me; a scene from memory. I can recall at any time the feeling of beautiful potential. Now that I've seen everything you won't unsettle me with infinity. Massive stars spilt their guts for me. Massive stars spilt their guts for me.

about

Barney Byron Northampton, UK

Welcome! Here you'll find my latest self-recorded albums.
Stylistically, it's all over the place. What starts off as one thing often ends up as another. It's all about the songs that I seem to spend my life chasing. They occupy my mind for a while, I record them and move onto the next one. I'm hugely self conscious about them but here they are, for the world to hear if it would like to listen. ... more
